Promotion Tracking in Askuity

 

Askuity is a great tool for both Sales and Marketing teams to track promotions. Here is a step by step guide to setting up a promotion in Askuity for maximum visibility.

Create a tag for your promotional products 

Start by identifying the group of products you would like to track. Create a tag for those products on the Tag Management Page which can be found within the drop down under your login in the upper right hand corner of Askuity. Now you have a unique grouping of products that represent your items on promotion.

Track the product using Sales Overview

Now that you have created your promotional tag you can easily track it on the Sales Overview page. Perhaps you want to track these promotional products in stores that are running the promotion against those that are not. Or, benchmark sales of an end-cap for a period versus the same products in their usual placement. Decide how you want to track this promotion and configure Sales Overview using the Metrics Dropdown and adding in last years’ Comparable Values.

Add Annotations and Save Favorites

Annotations enrich the data on Sales Overview with user-generated activity. Keep track of the promotional period with an annotation so you remember what caused the lift in sales. To create an annotation click on the x (horizontal) axis of the graph. You can label your promotion and add in the date range that it follows. When you’re done there will be a shaded area representing the promotional period. Clicking on the annotation will expand it to reveal the details you included. Go ahead and save your selections as a favorite too, making it easy to return to the product/store combination any time you log in to Askuity.

Setting up an Out of Stock Report

The final step to effectively track promotional activity is setting up supply chain management reports. It is vitally important to manage stock levels and maintain sufficient inventory levels for the duration of the promotion. Setting up an “Out of Stock Report” or “Product on Hand by Store Report” can help you keep an eye on inventory and alert you to any stocking issues at the store level. Because what’s the point of dedicating all those resources to driving sales and building brand awareness if your customers can’t find your products on shelf?
