Merchant Success Consultant

Askuity is a Toronto-based retail analytics software company operating as an innovative new division within The Home Depot. Askuity’s mission is to transform merchant-vendor collaboration between The Home Depot and its product suppliers by enabling best-in-class data-driven decision-making and real-time retail execution.

Position Overview

Merchant Success Consultants provide ongoing support to The Home Depot’s core merchandising team by gathering insights from merchants, merchandise planners and inventory, planning and replenishment analysts to communicate merchant expectations to Vendors. Merchant Success Consultants will host merchant discussions, provide Askuity application demonstrations, and collaborate on the creation of content to be shared with Vendors and various internal stakeholders. A core role within The Home Depot’s vendor analytics monetization program, Merchant Success Consultants are responsible for onboarding approximately $15M USD in vendor fees. Merchant Success Consultants will align the priorities of The Home Depot’s merchandising team with the priorities of Askuity’s vendor success, community enablement and product teams to improve collaboration among merchants and vendors and drive business results.

Position Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders (Merchants, IPRs and MPs) to understand key priorities, expectations of Vendors and individual business objectives.
  • Become Askuity’s subject matter expert regarding departments in your portfolio.
  • Onboard approximately $15M USD in Vendor Analytics fees.
  • Collaborate with Askuity’s Community Enablement team on content delivery to Vendors and internal stakeholders by gathering insights from merchant portfolios in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Transfer knowledge from The Home Depot team in Atlanta to Askuity team in Toronto.
  • Partner with Vendor Success team, leveraging their knowledge of vendors to align merchant goals with communication strategies to vendors.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 2-4 years in a relationship management/account management role; preferably in SAAS, Retail or CPG industries.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to synthesize complex topics and ideas and explain them in a coherent and understandable way to key stakeholders across different functions.
  • Curious mindset; Ask the right questions to drive a conversation in the direction desired to extract the information needed based on pre-set objectives.
  • Critical thinking, resourcefulness, attention to detail and problem-solving.
  • Retail or Wholesale industry experience is an asset.
  • Undergraduate university degree required.
